Apic's purpose is to influence, support, and improve the quality of health care through the practice and management of infection control and epidemiology.

Various educational conferences and other meetings held during the year. These conferences and meetings are used to disseminate information and to inform of innovations in the fields of infection control & epidemiology. Chapters provide ongoing member support at the local level, foster communication and networking opportunities, develop strong leaders through mentorship and local volunteer opportunities, and advance infection prevention issues.
