Wags' mission is to provide opportunities to sponsor, develop, or provide educational and character building programs for the benefit of girls and women through teaching and promoting an interest in the game of soccer. Wags promotes the empowerment of girls and women through opportunities in soccer. Wags sponsors, manages, and operates clinics, tournaments, exhibitions and other educational activities.

Wags-women and girls in soccer,foundation-supports organizations that recognized accomplishments of individuals that have dedicated their lives to the game of soccer and provided opportunities through various methods for women and girls involved in the game of soccer. Specific efforts supported include soccer hall of fame award to recognized superior accomplishments in the game of soccer; principal sponsor for the women's soccer award of excellence that is presented at the annual usc conference to recognize lifetime contributions to the advancement of women and girls through the game of soccer wags tournament- the premier girls soccer tournament in the united states. The tournament has been held annually since 1975. This year's tournament was held on october 8th-10th. Teams ages u-11 through u-19 participated and coaches from many colleges/universities attended. wags all-star international trip-the washington area girls soccer league strives to provide experiences that will benefit and enhance the development of players. During the fall of 2015, wags accepted nominations for our second wags all-star team from current u13 and u14 division 1&2 teams. Selected playerscreated a team that traveled to italy in june 2016. The opportunity to play and travel internationally is an experiencethat has no equal. Not only did the wags all-star players enhancetheir soccer skills by participating in international matches, but they gained a cultural experience that will broaden their horizons. Our first all-star team traveled to london, england in 2014 and theirexperience was invaluable. These expenses were incurred in the prior tax year and paid in the current tax year.
