The mission of mississippi valley flood control agc is uniquely focused on federal flood control and navigation work on the mississipi river and its tributaries.
This is a two and half day convention which combines committee meetings, a board of directors meeting and a membership meeting for conducting business. Attendance is approximately one hundred and twenty members and guests. branch meetings-various branch committees meet with their government counterparts to discuss mutual contract and specifications to try and achieve better working relationships, e. G. Dredging, soil conservation and revetments. National annual meeting - a meeting held for all of general contractors and associate membbers in the united states. Sessions are informative and help contractors to manage their business better and more profitablle. Branch staffs from over ninety agc branches meet in open forum to discuss mutual problems of branch/chapter operations as a trade association. Annual rountable meeting - national committee and branch members meet with various corps of engineer representatives at least once a year to discuss mutual problems in their construction procedures members of this branch serve on various national committees. weekly bulletin mail-out to members apprising them of government construction solicitations for contruction contracts and abstract of bids taken. Provide periodic meetings with corps of engineers and soil conservation service representative to resolve specifications and contractual problems and procedures. Weekly contact with various government offices to obtain information and to resolve differences on specification interpretations.
