Women for sobriety, inc. Has been providing self-help recovery services since 1975 for women affected by substance use disorders as well as online recovery services since 1998. These services include but are not limited to; providing wfs program services, free literature, the establishment of self-help groups, assistance for treatment or recovery centers using the wfs program.
Women for sobriety administers the new life program of recovery for women with substance use disorders. Wfs provides outreach and information via free literature, an informational website, and responding to telephone and email requests. Wfs coordinates a network of volunteer-lead, self-help recovery meetings across the united states and canada, including screening and certifying group leaders, providing free literature for distribution at meetings, and referring women to meetings in their local community, all free of charge. Wfs administers the financial and day-to-day management of wfs online, an online peer-support community of women using the new life program, including a message board and online chat meetings, both free of charge to end users. women for sobriety offers an annual conference to benefit women with substance use disorders. Included in this conference are a keynote speaker, numerous workshops which assist in continuing sobriety and recovery, as well as other activities which support connection to recovery and relapse prevention.
