The organization's mission is to enhance and improve the quality of education in the atlanta public school system by establishing and maintaining high caliber and creative partnerships between individual schools and the atlanta-area business, nonprofit, civic, higher education, religious, social, and professional communities.

Project for a day- project for a day provides an opportunity for business leaders and the community to spend a day in our schools participating in meaningful projects that will have school-wide impact. The program is organized by the atlanta public school system, in conjunction with the atlanta partners for education and the metro atlanta chamber. Project for a day celebratory luncheon- the apfe partnership awards is its annual recognition award program where we acknowledge the exceptional partnerships between atlanta public schools and community businesses, institutions and organizations and celebrate project for a day participants. Partnerships focus on tutoring, mentoring, career awareness, and instructional support and recognition programs. Awards are presented in several different categories. see schedule o for description
