The windsor historical society aims to inspire public awareness and appreciation of the diverse people, places, and events that contribute to windsor's evolving history.

Operates museum: exhibits, two historic homes, hands on learning center, research and genealogy library, and shop. Publishes quarterly newsletter and maintains active website and social media presence (facebook, twitter, instagram). School programs include facility and historic district tours, classroom programs, student exhibitions, and student scholarships. Twenty-five public programs annually include lectures, programs infusing current issues with historical perspective, family and craft events, walking and bus tours, facebook photography and writing contests, and collaborations with sister organizations. The society leads community preservation efforts, mentors smaller history organizations in our region, and shares traveling exhibits and powerpoints, serving 86,895 people.
