The organization's main purpose is to promote, educate, advance and improve the equipment manager's profession in all its phases. Each year, a national convention is held which has workshops and seminars to educate its members. Additionally, the organization has a certification program which involves a certification test and continuing education requirements. The organization also produces various publications.
