Mission

ATZUM assists those severely disadvantaged by inadequate access to Israeli public protection or private concern. Current Projects:Victims of Terror In addition to the anguish and pain of mourning and suffering, countless Israeli families have been put at grave risk economically by death, maiming or serious injury. Many of those same families, and countless more, urgently seek relief from the growing unemployment that besets an Israel under assault. ATZUM works to get funds to those families, particularly to those whose major wage earner has been incapacitated.Righteous Gentiles Israel is home for 57 surviving Khasiday Umot Olam / Righteous Gentiles who saved Jews and came to live here alone, or with their families, at the end of World War II. ATZUM is working to provide basic needs not met by the Israel social welfare (NII) package, including visits by Israeli "adoptive grandchildren", professional caretakers, and geriatric, dental, ophthalmic and auditory treatments and aids. We are working intensively with eleven Righteous Gentiles and have distributed $13,000 to them. Foreign Workers There are approximately 300,000 foreign workers in Israel. ATZUM will help these workers in specific financial crisis due to severe work injuries not covered by rapacious employers, or by Israel health care systems. To date, we have distributed $15,000 to assist eighteen foreign workers.Human TraffickingATZUM is working to banish human trafficking from Israel, particularly the exploitation of women sold into sexual slavery.
