A community technology initiative established with the goal of "bridging the digital divide" by providing community computer access in recreation centers and churches and preparing the workforce for the next generation of network-based supercomputing technologies.

The broadband technology opportunities program is comprised of two grants from the national telecommunications and information administration and one community. These grants provide for the following sub-programs:public computer centers- the organization provides broadband access to the general public and to specific vulnerable populations, such as low-income, unemployed, aged, children, minorities, and people with disabilities. This is accomplished through projects to create, upgrade, and expand public computer centers including those at community colleges that meet a specific public need for broadband service, including, but not limited to, education, employment, economic development, and enhanced service for health-care delivery, children, and vulnerable populations. Sustainable broadband adoption- the organization engages in innovative projects that promote broadband demand, including projects focused on providing broadband education, awareness, training, access, or support, particularly amoung vulnerable population groups where broadband technology has traditionally been underutilized.
