Gang intervention - this is a gang prevention/intervention program. The center seeks to work with local communities to reduce or prevent youths going into gangs. The program offers youth ages 12 to 21 a safe and positive recreational environment. The program is free and open to all youths residing in the san gabriel valley. Program activities and services include: indoor basketball gym, badminton gym, pool table, air hockey, football, table tennis, computer lab, homework assistance and community service opportunities. education pathways voc opp services (epvo) - re-entry program for incarcerated youth. Epvo reduces the juvenile deliquency and recidivism by providing case management services to youth on probation. Epvo also helps participants acquire their high school diploma of g. E. D. And provides essential job readiness skills and vocational training. Participants receive academic assistance and career counseling and are enrolled in vocational training or other post-high school educational programs. Program participants also receive a stipend for school fees and necessary items related to his or her educational and/or career path. workforce investment act - youth program - provides eligible out-of-school youth with an objective, comprehensive educational & employability assessment. Also provides integrated workforce services and outcome-driven performance in the area of engaging disconnected osy in education and unsubsidized job placement. home based program - in partnership with los angeles county probation department, this program provides home-based supervision through counseling, parent education and mentoring to probation youth and their families. After school program - this program offers after school classes for youth ages 6-18. Among others the program includes: homework assistance, tutoring, academic enrichment, van service from school, recreational social, cultural activities, field trips, job preparation, leadership development, community service opportunities, and sports recreation. This program also offers multi-lingual teachers (english, spanish & chinese). Gender specific services in the community & in partnership with the los angeles county probation department, this school-based program provides prevention education for female at-risk and probation youth through small group counseling and mentoring. Tobacco control and prevention (tcpp) program promotes a tobacco-free lifestyle, aimed to educate the public about the dangers of smoking and of second-hand smoke, especially on children and youth. Los angeles county youth jobs program - provides calworks youth with personal enrichment training and work readiness and an average of 100 hours of paid work experience. Sce fess energy - program that helps the community save energry. Community services block grant, employment and counseling program - provides low-income individuals with employment-related expenses. Also provides counseling services. Friday night club program - a safe haven program for low-income, at-risk youth (ages 14-24) in th community. Fnc provides a safe, supervised, and positive alternative to the streets by offering a basketball program, and open access to ayc recreational facilities in the afternoons and on friday evenings until 10pm. Students are able to participate in anything from card games and board games to sports in the gymnasium. Fnc participants engage in life skills workshops that focus on healthy relationships, tobacco and drug awareness, drivers' education, and safe sex education. Students are involved in educational field trips and community service opportunities.
