2016 program accomplishments: a 14-year old boy from laveen lost his hearing aid during pe. The cost for replacements were $2000 and his parents were able to pay $200 and then submitted a request for $1800 from the afcca foundation for children board. The board approved the full amount. 5-year old student in tempe was born with spina bifida and uses a wheelchair. Per his physical therapist, if had bilateral ankle foot orthotics, he would be able to walk. His parents were able to obtain the necessary additional items required to keep the orthotics comfortable for the child, they were just in need of assistance with the braces. The afcca foundation for children voted unanimously to grant $500 to pay for the foot orthotics for this little boy. A student with a seizure disorder needed an eeg to diagnose the cause. The request was for $250. 00 for the cost of an eeg, the parents are going to pay $50. 00 total cost of eeg is $300. 00. The board approved unanimously:for the 2016-2017, the total amount of medical grants funded by the afccafoundation for children was $3,302. 93 eeg $250. 00 orthotic $500. 00 hearing aid $1800. 00 vision services $752. 93
