In 2017, $246,800 was paid on debt obligations on acquisition of open space land. As these payments reduce a balance sheet liability, they do not appear directly under expenses in part iii nor in part 9, page 10 on the statement of functional expenses. Activities include the transfer of land to the bainbridge island metropolitan park and recreation district with an original cost basis of $895,250. The land trust purchased the land and transferred it to the bainbridge island metropolitan park and recreation district where it will be available for public access and recreation. The transfer is subject to a conservation easement retained by the land trust.
