Education

In fy2016-2017, the winchester education foundation facilitated the donation of several student scholarships; secured a significant matching gift donation for the conversion of the former john kerr elementary school into a center for career and technical education programs (the emil and grace shihadeh innovation center); and acquired substantial gifts for three new scholarship funds. In addition, the foundation made grants to winchester public schools and the handley board of trustees as part of a funding formula agreement. Furthermore, the foundation continued to support the free admission program that allowed all school children in city public schools to attend winchester public schools athletic events for free and helped to sponsor the world of work seminar for middle school students.
