The specific purpose of this corporation is to provide a means for responsible andeffective participation in the governance of the campus; provide an official voicethrough which students' opinions may be expressed; foster awareness of this opinionboth on and off campus; assist in the protection of the rights and interests of theindividual student body; and stimulate the educational, social, physical andcultural well-being of the university community.

Associated students, inc. (asi) is funded primarily through the receipt of mandatorystudent fees established through referenda by a vote of the students and collected by the university at the time of registration. Asi funds various programs for thestudent population. See schedule o for further details.
