Coach athletes during practice sessions. Individual skills development and team building activities are stressed along with the performance of sport specific injury prevention exercises. The sessions can also be attended by college coaches to observe specific athletes they are interested in recruiting. Sessions are held (two per week) from november through june. Sixty athletes on six teams are directed by each team's head coach and assistant(s). They oversee the structure and execution of each session. Sessions are held at and around the greater madison, wi area. Recruiting videos are also created for interested athletes. coach teams during athletic competitions. Teams attend about a dozen tournaments during the january to june club season. About half of the events are one day tournaments and the rest are multi-day events. Teams compete in 4 to 12 matches at these events. Coaches are responsible for player conduct both on and off the court. These events allow athletes to apply the skills and knowledge they have acquired in practice to game situations. College coaches are in attendance to see athletes compete in high level competition. Our teams strive to earn bids to junior national championships ("nationals") each year. organize and administer club activities. Activities include creation and maintenance of the annual budget; hiring coaches; select and register for tournaments; choose and order uniforms; register coaches; players and chaperons with usav; administer club checking account; acquire lodgings for coaches at tournaments; coordinate referee and scoring clinic for the club; coordinate training of new coaches; conduct club information meeting for parents and players; and mediate personnel/parent/player problems.
