Wjcccaa acts as a catalyst to improve the quality of life of the entire community, by developing relationships that allow all citizens to help themselves and each other. Wjcccaa educates the community about the needs of lower income families, and develops resources to combat the causes of poverty. Our services stress the long-term development of individuals, families and communities.

Weatherization and emergency home repairs: free energy conservation work and small home repair work for eligible applicants. Weatherization services include attic and wall insulation, hot water tank wrap, water pipes wrapped, plastic under the home, installation of carbon monoxide/smoke/fire detectors, safety inspection of appliances and heating and cooling systems, glass replacement, outside door replacement, blower door test to determine caulking and sealing requirements. 2,178 homes were weatherized for 5,900 residents. head start: head start's educational goal is to provide a nurturing learning environment where 154 disadvantaged children learn the skills that will enable them to begin public school on an equal footing with their more advantaged classmates. The program teaches children problem-solving and life skills, while building pride and self-confidence. The program supports each child's emotional, physical, cognitive, and mental development. community services: 3,468 eligible applicants received services to assist in stabilizing the families, including but not limited to the following programs: legal outreach, family literacy, emergency program (medication, transportation, rent/mortgage and utility assistance), youth programs, project discovery, hope tutorial, neighborhood basketball league, youth employment (green team: community gardens and home repair), fatherhood, and feed the need programs. youth programs to encourage youth to stay in school and continue their education. 365 youth were assisted by this program.
