Children's services - york county head start is a federally funded early childhood education program that works to enhance children's self-esteem and school readiness skills, and supports parents as the primary teachers of children. Early head start serves prenatal mothers and children up to age three, while head start serves children ages three to five. Head start and early head start programs also strive to ensure that each child is enrolled in a medical home and receives regular oral health care as a means to support mental and developmental preparedness for learning. health services - nasson health care is a federally-qualified health center. To encourage and support new mothers to breastfeed their child, breastfeeding peer counselors, breast pumps, and enhanced food packages to mothers who are breastfeeding are available.
