Associated Churches of Fort Wayne and Allen County (AC) provides emergency food assistance through a comprehensive network of 30 food pantries operated by churches and social service agencies in neighborhoods throughout the community. Families must register and show proof of an address in the neighborhood. We feed the unemployed, the working poor, and the historic poor of our community by providing a 5 day supply of food once a month at no cost to the individual or family. However, we do work with families in need of greater assistance by referring them to additional community resources such as food stamps and/or Medicaid. Most of our volunteers are affiliated with our member churches. They provide a friendly face and caring support to families experiencing hardship. AC has a licensed nutritionist serving as a consultant, making certain we offer balanced and nutritional meals.
