Artisans art gallery was originally founded as cedar city artisans in 2009, and was created for the express purpose of providing a professional art gallery for local amateur artists and artisans to display and sell their work and to provide a venue for individuals of all ages to receive lessons in all art mediums. Since that time the gallery has grown substantially. The gallery represents the work of over 70 non-professional local and regional artists. For many of these artists, artisans art gallery is the first venue where they were able to display their work. Artisans art gallery also helps develop the arts through education, specifically extracurricular art classes for students in the k - 12 age range. The classes teach a wide range of techniques and mediums from very basic drawing skills to more advanced painting and art theory classes with lessons tailored for age and ability level. Adult classes along the same lines are also taught. In addition to its long term education program
