Programs

Arts after hours - this dynamic networking event and "mini-trade show"-held each year in partnership with the eugene area chamber of commerce-gives local art organizations the opportunity to interact with local business leaders. It draws over twenty art organizations and 300 guests. Brava breakfasts - held twice annually, brava breakfasts celebrate arts leadership and arts and business connections. In the spring, abae presents awards for outstanding arts and business partnerships. The fall breakfast features an inspirational speaker on arts and business collaboration. Arts & economic prosperity study - this nationwide study produced by americans for the arts reveals the economic impact of the arts on local economies. Abae partners with the city of eugene, university of oregon, and lane arts council to localize the study's results to the eugene area. The results of the most recent study, released in 2017, showed 62 million is spent each year on arts and culture in eugene; two-thirds of that is by the non-profit arts organizations and one-third is spent by audiences on things like dinner or drinks before a show, parking, babysitter, etc. Also over 2400 jobs are supported by non-profit arts organizations locally. The results also showed that compared to other similarly-sized communities in the nation, eugene ranks very high in volunteer involvement and engagement. The community is using the results of this study as compelling evidence that the arts play a big economic role in our city- more reason than ever to partner with arts organizations. Arts & business loan program - arts organizations, individual artists, and commercial businesses working with local artists can apply for quick- turnaround, low-cost loans. Funds can be used to establish new revenue- generating activities, improve physical infrastructure, or as bridge financing for special projects. Arts & business connections - abae actively connects local business leaders and professionals seeking opportunities to dedicate their time and talents to local artists and art organizations in need of new board members, pro- bono professional services, and general volunteers. Creative academy - regular seminars focus on specific business needs and how the application of artistic practices or support of local artists can meet those needs. A team of practicing artists and creative business leaders lead each seminar to ensure a well-balanced perspective.
