Scholarshipsscholarships for college students; scholarships for women pursuing certifications/licenses or other requirements to return to workforce. Lawa continues to increase partnerships with local academic institutions: queens university, wingate university, uncc spcc and cpcc. These partnership are doubling the scholarship awards when our partners match our awards at 100%. padres y padrinosa mentor-tutor program that assists in the academic and social development of students in four elementary schools and one middle school. Consists of three interrelated elements: tutoring/mentoring, parenting sessions, dancing fordiversity. Served 125 students in 2014. high school seriesa college readiness/access to information program for hs students and parents. Goal is to increase number of students graduating from hs, encourage student to pursue higher education and attain associate or bachelor degrees. Encourages students to apply for lawa youth scholarships. Total of 6 sessions held at three different institutions.
