Facilitating projects and assessments: the arts alliance is engaged in conducting needs assessments for arts and cultural education, managing a number of projects including these four: 1)life-long creative learning programs including arts & creative education integration for student excellence (multi-year); 2) the creative center assessment to assess the need for, feasibility of, economic impact potential and business model possibilities for one or more sustainable cooperative multi-purposed spaces for artists and creative individuals on the eastern side of the county (completed in 2017); 3) powerart! A multiyear project to wrap 42 traffic signal boxes in downtown ann arbor with vinyl-printed replicas of local artists' work. In total washtenaw county-based artists will be paid $60,900 for this project. The goal of powerart! Is to power public access to the arts through street-level community involvement; and 4) creativevoice is a video journalism project that covers arts and cultural events, capturing the voices of arts organizations, artists, curators, producers and audiences to create highlight reels that document and promote the region's creative scene. Creative voice offers its professionally produced videos free of charge to creative nonprofits and artists to use for promotion region 9 regranting administratorthe arts alliance is an administrator for the michigan council for arts and cultural affairs regranting program. It serves region 9: hillsdale, jackson, lenawee, livingston, monroe and washtenaw counties. The arts alliance offers training sessions, sample narratives, budgets and an online application system tutorial. The same is provided for the peer review panels before they are convened to evaluate, score and distribute minigrants. services to arts and creative individuals & businesses: the arts alliance provides services and promotes the arts and creative industries' programs and collaborative initiatives through its membership program, a biweekly online enewsletter the arts alliance's deb polich serves co-host and co-producer of creative:impact on wemu 89. 1 fm, a weekly radio show featuring the creative people, jobs and businesses that are the driving forces making our community one of michigan's strongest and most vibrant arts and creative industry hubs. The arts alliance medal for arts, sciences & humanities are awarded annually to honor and celebrate the extraordinary contributions and accomplishments of washtenaw county artists, creatives, individuals, businesses and organizations. The arts alliance publishes and distributes 30,000 of the annual arts & creative industries guide.
