Arts! Lafayette encourages public interest in lafayette cultural arts, activities, services, programs and facilities and encourages gifts, endowments and bequests for the cultural arts to help meet those needs.

Art night out is a collaboration between the city of lafayette, artslafayette, lafayette urban renewal authority (lura), and many lafayette businesses. In its tenth season, the street fair is a free, family-friendly community event that takes place on the second friday, may through september, in old town lafayette. Art night out includes an art market, a beer & wine garden, free street performers, food trucks, and a feature band. The art market offers a distinctive shopping experience with a wide variety of locally made arts and fine crafts. Art night out visitors can also enjoy live demonstrations by artists, crafters, dancers, and others. Attendance averages 5000 per event. Artslafayette utilizes 100 volunteers per event to create a successful and safe event. Artslafayette hosts the beer and wine garden as part of its sponsorship of the event. The proceeds are currently the major fundraiser for the non-profit. Business sponsorships of art night out help to pay the operating expenses. the michael adams poetry prize is a statewide poetry contest and event. This event is a collaboration between the lafayette cultural arts commission, artslafayette and the public art committee. Named in honor of a founding board member, this contest is open to all colorado poets. The reading and awards ceremony recognizes the important role poetry can play in our culture and pays tribute to michael adams. Artslafayette facilitates the entries for this contest and helps to pay the judges and awards for this annual event. There were 135 entries in 2017, mapp's third year. the 2017 arts! Lafayette networking event was held on january 27, 2017 at 95a bistro. More than 300 individuals were invited and more than 100 attended. This event honored 3 art heroes, individuals who further the arts in the lafayette community and unsung heroes who helped throughout art night out both city boards, the public art committee and the cultural arts commission were awarded $6,000 to help them further the arts in lafayette.
