The association for theatre in higher education (athe) sponsors an annual educational conference and meetings intended to promote theatre in higher education. The conference addresses the interests of its diverse individual and organizational members, including college and university theatre departments and administrators, educators, graduate students, and theatre practitioners. focus groups and committees to discuss important developments in theatre education. Focus groups and committees represent various areas of interest in theatre arts and studies. These groups offer members a direct way of getting involved in athe around issues of common concern. All focus groups offer programming at the annual conference and throughout the year. Some also offer newsletters, workshops, additional meetings and symposia, e-mail discussions, and other means of networking and advocating for their particular interest areas. the association provides members a medium for the exchange of ideas relating to theatre in higher education. other programs include various publications that act as a clearinghouse for information and alert members of developments in the field of theatre in higher education providing new information, knowledge and critical thinking about theatre education.
